There are a few minor differences between 'Standard English' Acol and Acol played at 'Bridge Online.   These are commented on below.

WHICH SUIT TO OPEN WITH 4 CARD MAJORS

Standard English
The highest ranking of four card suits except... when holding exactly four hearts and four spades you open 1.
Bridge Online
The lowest ranking of four card suits.
Note: There has been much debate among experts about which suit to open with two four card suits.   This suggests there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ method, as long as you are on the same wavelength as your partner!

CHANGE OF SUIT RESPONSE AT THE TWO LEVEL

Standard English
9+ points required.
Bridge Online
10+ points required.
Note: No problem here as you can always respond 1NT (the 'dustbin' bid) with 6-9 points.  Quite a few UK teachers also teach 10+ points required.

STRONG TWOS (2, 2 and 2)

Standard English
A very strong hand with a good 5+ card suit and  8-9 playing tricks.  This will often be in the 20-22 point range.
Bridge Online
20-22 unbalanced hand with at least a five card suit or slightly less points with good playing strength.
Note: This is pretty much the same.

RESPONDING TO STRONG TWOS (2, 2 and 2)

Standard English
A Strong Two opening is forcing.  The negative response is 2NT showing 0-7 points.
Bridge Online
A Strong Two opening is not absolutely forcing. Pass with 0-3 and make the negative response with 4-7.
Note: You will rarely miss game by passing with 0-3.
